anyone had salsa dancing lessons?

dh and are going to start going to salsa classes.we are complete beginners with 2 left feet! anone been? are they good? fun? do you have to be good?

Best thing I ever did, haven't been able to dance whilst pregnant but love it. I will warn you that it takes over your whole life though it becomes a complete obsession. And two left feet are no object. (Its very good for giving you a shapely bum) and my best piece of advice would be to invest in proper dance shoes if you find you like it, dance trainers in particular are very comfy and supportive. I've been to a couple of classes. It was fun & would like to go to some more. The one we went to didn't require you to take a partner so you ended up dancing with random people which I wasn't too keen on, although my dancing was better with them than with my mate!

I started a few weeks ago and LOVE it - it's mostly girls though so no Patrick Swayzes for us! DH won't go - because he's not gay apparently! I think he is a boring git! Our teacher is cuban and boy can he move - he makes it so much fun and i have never laughed so much.

DH got me a private lesson for us both for my birthday pre-DS as he knew I wanted to do it but he was scared bless him. He really enjoyed himself as you can approach it mathematically at first with the 4-4 timing and worry about wiggling and grooving once you've learnt the steps. 5yrs of tai chi has wiped out DH's ability to shake his ass !.
We plan to go to the big classes once a month when we get a bit more spare time and cash.

Dh and I went pre-dd. It was great fun. When we were going it was a really hot summer and .... well I've always teased the teacher that she was responsible for us getting dd !

did it some years back with friends and loved it tho a bit disappointed there were no decent males (will have to stop watching dirty dancing) great exercise for the bum tho

don't go to an afternoon class as there isn't a man in sight!!!!
