Just that really. What wonderful surprises have you had in your life?

Planned or unplanned, it could be a party, finding something amazing, something unexpected happening etc

Just a nice happy thread to start the weekend

Mine was was coming home on a Thursday night and my then DP proposing . He had it all planned out, flowers, music, gift. I had no idea. When I opened the gift box (Jo Malone) expecting perfume there was a ring box .

No one out there with any happy surprises to tell us about?

My best surprise was finding a letter my father had written to me a year after he died. He'd sent it to me 18 years ago when I was working abroad, found it in an old photo album and had forgotten he'd ever sent it until I saw his handwriting on the envelope.

I was really struggling with his death and I'd split with DS's father and just felt wretched. That letter got me through it.

Latika, that must have been so special for you. I think with all this fast communication we are missing out on special memories that letters can hold.

Surely mine can't be the only surprise proposal?
