..to use the emoticon.

So I shall use it on this thread when I feel the need.

OP posts:
tribpot · 22/09/2006 13:41

I'm sceptical that you will

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 22/09/2006 13:41

How d'you do it then? I need it urgently.. there are many [that emoticon] inducing threads around today...

hunkermunker · 22/09/2006 13:42

There are, SHPHH? I've not been reading the right ones then!

It feels a bit rude to use it, I think, unless aimed at oneself.

tribpot · 22/09/2006 14:13

Well mine was only meant in jest, hunker

To express scepticism, simply type [ hmm ] without the spaces. It's the bottom one in the list opposite when you're typing a post.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 22/09/2006 14:29

Oh yes.. do you know, I forgot where the smiley list was.. I was looking at the top!!

Well not so much threads then.. as comments on threads.. but that may just be because I'm pre menstrual..

Hmm
foxinsocks · 22/09/2006 16:08

why does it only have one eyebrow?

hunkermunker · 22/09/2006 18:24

I know it was Trib

Still not finding places to use it though...

OP posts:
tribpot · 22/09/2006 19:38

I find it very useful

auntymandy, loving the post-of-no-words, can well imagine doing that in future, e.g.:

Q: "I'm a yummy mummy, who let those two wretches [i.e. me and auntymandy] into our wacky warehouse this morning?"

A:

Miaou · 22/09/2006 19:52

Hunker - [hmmm][hmmm][hmmm][hmmm][hmmm][hmmm][hmmm][hmmm][hmmm][hmmm][hmmm][hmmm][hmmm]

MrsSpoon · 22/09/2006 19:53

That's effective Miaou!

Miaou · 22/09/2006 19:53

oh arse

I'm obviously crap at using it too

Quootiepie · 22/09/2006 19:53

haha!

DumbledoresGirl · 22/09/2006 19:54

Well, I have never used it on MN beofre, but I use the equivalent on msn all the time. It is my favourite of all emoticons - exactly sums me up.

Ah that's good!

Two ms Miaou!

DG, will have to try it out on MSN, not sure what it equates to when using Trillian

milward · 22/09/2006 20:14

It needs to be a smiling hmmmm - looks like a frown.

DumbledoresGirl · 22/09/2006 20:18

On msn it is described as sarcastic smile. That is how I use it - to denote sarcasm or to acknowledge sarcasm from the other poster.

hunkermunker · 23/09/2006 11:55

PMSL Miaou

OP posts:
Twiglett · 23/09/2006 12:00

so much time spent discussing somethign so inconsequential

hunkermunker · 23/09/2006 12:05

A post designed purely to use the emoticon, I suspect

OP posts:
rustybear · 23/09/2006 13:05

Can we have the hug emoticon they have on MSN or is that too complicated?
