Whats more economical, a shower or a bath? regarding kids that is, is it cheaper to dunk em in a bath or just to stick em under the shower 5 minutes??? boring question i guess but it seems to be something people are torn on!

We put our two in the bath at the same time. They're still too young to shower - 3 years and a 9 month old baby.

shower. cheaper and better for the environment. I thought everyone knew that.

DS1 has been having showers since he was about 18 months old........I just tend to dunk them in the bath - then I can get on with cooking the dinner as they play. However, in 'green' terms showers are better.

Well ds1 and ds2 are 6 and 3.5 so i reckon it maybe easier all round if i just get a shower on then..... but dd is just turned 1 and so i dont htink i can do that for her can i?!! hmmm anyway thanks for that, i kinda figured showers would be best but some people have said running a small bath and sticking all 3 of them in is far more economical, but i reckon 3 manky kids in one small bath is just a bit mingin' lol!

We don't have a shower. DD has a fairly shallow bath and once she's in bed I add more hot water to it and get in myself. That way I don't feel too guilty for running her a bath every night.

Gobbledigook · 14/09/2006 18:17

I put all 3 in the bath and I don't fill it up much. I think we'd use more water on 3 showers than we do with a few of inches of water in the bath!

Heathcliffscathy · 14/09/2006 18:19

the three of us share bathwater (dh, me and ds that is!)

dh and i used to share a bath everynight before ds....ahhhh....those were the days....

Plus - my 2 yr old and 3.10 yr old would not get in the shower. Putting them in the bath allows them to do 'water play' for a bit and it gives me 10 minutes while they are all in one confined space

I also find it's the only way to get finger nails properly clean!
