If you do your car tax online, is it okay to drive the car before the tax disc arrives?

Anyone know?

Yes. Well, I did.

SoupDragon · 14/09/2006 10:14

Took about 2 days.

I think it is technically illegal not to DISPLAY a valid tax disc.

SoupDragon · 14/09/2006 10:16

I agree, it is indeed illegal not to display it but I wonder if they'd actually prosecute since the car is taxed and it's all on computer as being legally paid?

I just retaxed mine and forgot to put the tax disc in until about the 5th

Thanks, I think I will just do it online. But how quickly do the have it on record that the car has an MOT and is insured?

Within 20 minutes of the MOT being done!!

SoupDragon · 14/09/2006 11:02

Not sure about insurance though as mine was well within the insurance period.

Thanks
