Quick question about playgroups

Just a quickie- with playgroups, is there a minimum number of sessions a child must attend? Dd is 2.5 and I would like her to attend one morning a week. I have a few playgroups I'd like to contact but thought I'd check out what others' experiences are first- one friend had to send her ds 4 times a week.

TIA

depends on the playgroup - but the ones i know it is prefectly normal to start with one session and build up

There is no general official minimum (or indeed any obligation to attend at all) unless set by the playgroup/nursery itself. ds started on 2 mornings at his nursery school but at another which was a creche for Adult Education classes as well as an open playgroup he did only one.

My playgroup says that they have to attend at least 2 sessions a weeks and that it was an ofsted rule/recommendation.

Think generally they prefer at least two as one a week is not enough to get them used to it and so settled.
