i love dancing.

i used to go clubbing at least once a week.

I used to choose partners based on dancing skills (this was as disastrous as it sounds and is the one bit of all this i do not miss at all).

then i met dh.

he doesn't like dancing.

i stopped going clubbing really (my fault not his).

also lots of my friends stopped to.

problem is, I REALLY miss it. I'd love to go dancing say once a month. Not to pull. No recreational drugs. Just dancing.

But I don't know where to go anymore.

I like breakbeat, electro, hiphop, rnb, drum and base, rare groove, indie, lots really.

But i have no desire to feel like a plum and be surrounded by gurning 16 year olds.

I'm 34, wearing quite well.

Do you think it's all over and I should reconcile myself to weddings only?

If not, does anyone know a good (not cheesey a la carwash) club night in london or within striking distance with an older crowd where i might like the music?

i know i'll get slated for this but i just miss it so much.

ooh! Gay men's clubs! Always felt so safe in them, you can dance like an absolute prostitute

Hmm, actually, one of my neighbours is gay, and has a friend who ran clubs. I'm happy in dyke bars, too, for that matter.

With you, I would go nuts if I didn't dance but I can really dance and dance and dance. (And I'm older than you)

If you're going to feel a fool at clubs, get into some other kind of dancing, dunno what, maybe tango. You get a different mix at those kind of places and they're not so much pick up joints.
