Internet dating - how to spot problems - is this one?

I've been talking to someone for a while who asked if I could email him some pictures of me.

I felt that this is a bad sign but I can't put my finger on why exactly.

Any ideas? And please post red flags of your own.

Perhaps he/she has had some nasty surprises before? There was a thread on here recently where someone said that the on-line profile picture of a date was very old when she came to meet him. Has she/he asked for the pics to be taken with a copy of today's newspaper?

No! I do look very young for my age but we've provisionally agreed to meet so he'd know then if I was a liar.

He said something about wanting to look at a picture of me while he as taking to me on whatsapp.

Has he ever seen any pictures of you? If not then I can understand wanting to see what you look like. You may get on great, but we are all looking for attraction and when dating it is quite the norm to scroll through with a "no....no.....no...he looks ok....no" attitude in order to weed out the ones who don't float your boat.

By emailing them you aren't guaranteeing anything about how recent they are, but if I were him I'd want to see what you looked like before getting too involved. And yes, he can see you when you meet up, but it would be nice to have some idea up front about whether he might fancy you at all.
