ours has not started yet but we are extending above and behind our garage (double storey) we have been estimated around 29,000 pounds (can't find the pound sign on this stupid keyboard)

I think it will depend on which part of the country you live in, if you live down south i would expect to pay alot more

I should add that our price includes everything ie all light fittings, tiles and cloakroom suite and bathroom suite (we are choosing our own tho) so all we have to do is pick paint/paper for walls

Depends what you're having done - kitchen, ensuite, bathroom etc and where you live. Dh is doing one in East London - downstairs play room and kitchen, upstairs bedroom with ensuite £50K all in.

We live in the North West, looking for downstairs wc, extending kitchen and extra bedroom/ensuite upstairs. Trying to weigh up whether to extend or move house.

you could add a lot of value to your property if you extend, our house is in a lovely estate and a sort of cul de sac so its great for kids so if you are happy where you are its really worth considering staying put and extending, yes its very messy and a pain in the arse to start with (so i've been told ) but well worth it

try doing what i did, i knocked on some doors in the estate who had their houses extended (all done by the same builder) got good recommendations and he's doing ours (soon I hope!!!) we didn't even get any other quotes as I would rather have someone recommended rather than someone cheaper

150 a sq foot is usually a basic price for the construction, fit out is on top of that which is your personal decision and planning (ie where u buy )

roughly £1000 per square metre of floor space I think is the going rate.
