Not sure of the keyboard shortcut, but if your mouse pointer is still working, click on Apple then Force Quit

bobsmum · 06/09/2006 19:29

Apple key then "Q"?

Beetroot · 06/09/2006 19:29

Molesworth · 06/09/2006 19:34

tis very unusual for macs to freeze

I'm constantly CTRLALTDELETE-ing the PC

iota · 06/09/2006 19:34

remove the battery

Molesworth · 06/09/2006 19:35

hold down the power button for about 5 seconds, it'll go off

iota · 06/09/2006 19:35

my macmini is a bit flakey TBH - sometimes when I log in the text etc is huge

wartywarthog · 06/09/2006 19:35

try alt, apple key and enter - that's the keyboard shortcut for force quit

iota · 06/09/2006 19:36

my mac won't power off if it's in a mood - no matter how long you hold teh button in - unplugging is the only solution

Beetroot · 06/09/2006 19:36

held down key and it is off. will wait a moment now to see! thanks guys

OP posts:
Molesworth · 06/09/2006 19:37

it's alt + apple key + esc on my ibook

iota · 06/09/2006 19:37

warty - are you sure? its teh escape key on mine not teh enter key

wartywarthog · 06/09/2006 19:39

sorry - you're right iota, it is the escape key.

beety, do you know why it started hanging? very unusual for a mac..

iota · 06/09/2006 19:41

I bet it's only sleeping Beety

Beetroot · 06/09/2006 19:56
