PictureTrail - if you use it, can you help?

I have just gone onto my picturetrail account to add some more pics to my albums only to be told I have reached my free limit of 36 pics and would need to subscribe to add to the album. I had no idea this was a service that had to be paid for. Perhaps that was naive of me, but nonetheless, true.

Can anyone confirm this?

I don't know but I found this "New PictureTrail members are assigned a free Intro Account. After 31 days, they are switched to the free Basic Account if they have not already upgraded to the Premium account level. Free Basic accounts are eventually phased out from the system if not upgraded to the paid Premium level." which implies they delete your account at some point if you don't pay to upgrade!

Hmmmmmmmmm No such thing as a free lunch?

Anyone who can explain the system to me? How much does it cost? Do you ever get unlimited pics? How is payment made? Is it secure? Do they ask you if you want to renew or is it automatically taken?
