I could really do with some reassurance please

my period is almost 6days late (i'm regular as clockwork btw), i've done numerous tests (thought i had a faint pos yesterday) but did a test a gp and it came back neg today . Obviously my brain is starting to tick over wondering what the problem is (and I know i shouldn't worry coz that can delay periods but i didn't have anything to worry about in the first place to stop it iyswim). I'm nearly 35 and even wondered if it could be the menopause or something more serious. I did have a molar pregnancy a few years back and had to be monitored as it can lead to cancer and i'm worrying about that as well

I have to go back and do another preg test in a week (part of me is hoping its pos and i've just not got enough HCG to detect yet) has anyone experienced anything similar ie tested neg and then later gone to test positive

Don't stress out it is very unlikely it is any of the things you have suggested. The test the gp does is same as the home pregnancy test, so no more or less reliable! I have had friends who didn't get a +ve result until very late in 1st trimester and my sister has a friend who never gets +ve pregnancy test and has had both pregnancies confirmed by scans in 2nd trimester!! thank you not sure whether i should do anymore tests myself or just wait till i go back to my GP

I am probably not the person to ask, I did 9 tests before I finally went to the GP and only believed the blood test results!! If you have the will power - wait, it can be an expensive business otherwise! x
