rant rant rant rant rant.......................

just had words with reclycing and rubbish men.............and god am i pissed off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and they were nice calm words too, for me)

I have spent weeks and weeks cleaning and washing the reclcling and making sure that it is all done properly. I have also rung and rung about it too.....asking for the bins to be cleaned (as they smell, etc, etc), and asking for a bigger rubbish bin seeing as I have five kiddies and so makes lots more rubbish than the small bin can contain, recycling besides, and then this morning stood on doorstep and had words (and yes, polite clam words!), and what have they done......emptied ALL bins as rubbish as all the bins smell and were dirty(oh the surprise.....rubbish bins being dirty???I am shocked!!) and so they can't take it as recycling.

What was the fucking point................

to say I am mad is an understatement.........and god, when I get thro on that phone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just so you know I am not totally mad or like standing there just to yell......

I had 4 extra bags of rubbish and also about 3 of reclycling.....was asking nicely for them to take those too as they have put that any extra won't be.....

We have a private company that cleans your bin but you have to book them and they charge about £2

bogwobbit · 06/09/2006 22:16

We don't get our bins cleaned by the council here either, I think we pay about £1.50 a time for a private company to do it.
As for our council, I think the rule here is that if you have more than 5 in a household you can get a larger bin. Obviously don't know what the situation is in other areas.
Good luck with your 'phone call

Flamesparrow · 06/09/2006 22:20

Found you!

Yes, we have a company that can do it too, but it is the council's bright idea to introduce these new bins, so surely they should be cleaning them for us, because not everyone will spend money getting the thing done.

Mine was apparantly clean enough, and got recycled properly!

UrsulatheSeaWitch · 06/09/2006 22:21

Our (not-wheelie, not-recycling) dustbin was run over and squashed flat on Monday, coincidentally on the day that the binmen come.

Can't prove it was them, and we will be getting wheelie bins at some unspecified future date so no point replacing it - but the binmen would prefer us to put all our rubbish in a black binliner and put it outside for them, so they can just throw it in rather than lifting our bin and then putting it back .

Is it worth ringing the council???

FrogBellyRatBone · 06/09/2006 22:28

Gawd! It's another world..... we have to drive our rubbish 3 miles just to have it collected by the council.
Hope you gave them hell and are feeling a lot better for it
