Has anyone done it themselves? How hard is it?

yes you can. It's not very hard if you have half an idea of what you are doing

brimfull · 04/09/2006 19:38

do you need special tools?

There are some good places on the internet which give you step by step DIY instructions. Why not Google for help for what you need to do.

My step dad brought me a book when he got sick of random time phone calls after i got my first flat alone - and it originated from this website here ehow . Good luck!

Yes you can you will need a tap wrench and some PTFE tape to change the whole tap.
Why the whole tap tho' ? you can also change inserts (brass bits) and washers to stop them leaking.

thanks for the responses,I have looked at some websites but it still looks a bit daunting.
Carl - the taps are disgusting, stained ,leaking and 20 yrs old so I want new ones.
