our main telephone point is in the kitchen and I want it moved to the lounge, do i need to get a proper telephone engineer to do it or an electrician as my dh thinks

You can buy a socket an extention lead from B&Q and there is instructions on that.

DIY ,deffo not a job for an electrician. Nice and easy. Ask Dh to do on the "if it all goes wrong we can get a professional in to put it right " basis.

Using this method you will soon have him fitting kitchens and building tree houses .

Dh did it himself. Or you can run an extension lead through your skirting.
