do work if you wash them on a 40 degree wash and spin, as long as you dry them out

Thanks for sharing that. I take it that this wasn't a planned experiment? Lucky it didn't go in the dryer though.

On a similar note - certain mobile phones will work after being dropped in glasses of fizzy drink - if wiped off & put in the airing cupboard!

don't work if you drop them down the toilet though(gameboy did though)
