I love lidls, love to see what bargains they will have every week.
How sad am I?

Do you shop in Lidls?

I find it great for staples such as olive oil, tinned tomatoes, pesto, etc

love lidl.
so far the only thing i have bought that i don't like are the maize crisps and mexican salsa but they aren't mexican.

i got some sweetcorn there last weekend that were 19 pence each. i bought 10.

dmo · 02/09/2006 23:10

i go in for bits that they advertise such as plants, door handles, waterproofs etc
dont really shop for food there as i get asda to deliver but have picked the odd bit up such as milk, potato salad, garlic bread it was all very nice
also fruit and veg is good value

expatinscotland · 02/09/2006 23:15

I love it! They pay their workers a living wage and offer some good products. I love to go in there and hear all the different languages and see all the different faces. Reminds me of home . . .

expatinscotland · 02/09/2006 23:15

I don't do supermarkets, but I do go to Lidl for some things as there is one about 2 minutes from my house.

Drusilla · 02/09/2006 23:18

I love it too! There isn't one where I live but my parents have one near them and whenever I go to stay I stock up and bring it all home with me. It's the only supermarket I can browse in!

Blossomhill · 02/09/2006 23:32

Absolutely bloody love it.

Really good quality food for half the price.

Don't knock it until you try it!

dmo · 02/09/2006 23:38

tell all Kama
why do you hate it

Gillian76 · 02/09/2006 23:39

Have Aldi here.

I do like it. Should go more often...

Blondilocks · 02/09/2006 23:39

I like their wafer biscuits! Don't have one nearby though.

batoutofhell · 02/09/2006 23:55

Agree blossomhill, don't knock it until your've tried it.

I think their is a bit of a stigma with saying you shop at Lidls ,but the food is generally good and greta prices.

In my local lidls you always see expensive cars in the car park and a cross range of customers.

fattiemumma · 03/09/2006 00:16

i dont buy food there except for these gorgeous pizza's. they are made of like frecnh bread and rather than tomato sauce they have onions...sounds bizaar but they are gorge

but i do like checking what bargains they have...they do some amazing deals sometimes.

themoon66 · 03/09/2006 00:22

Love it with a passion. Like bubbles said... its the only supermarket where you can actually go to browse!

Love their wine - especially the fizzy cava style one in the blue bottle with string round the cork. The pils lager is gorgeous... way nicer than stella. The Chablais is half the price of tesco and twice as nice. Always buy the marmalade, ciabatta bread, camembert cheese, fruit juices, yogurts, wafer biscuits, dishwasher tablets, limescale tablets for the washer (like calgon but much cheaper) and this week someone said try their washing power, which I did .... wonderful too. And that sangria in the big bottles is yummy. Ooooh I could go on and on.

PS: the chocolate bars (blue for milk, green for hazelnut) bloody heaven!!!

brimfull · 03/09/2006 00:35

love lidl.
I've never tried their meat though.
Pizzas are great

JessaJam · 03/09/2006 00:38

We have a camping tradition of buying a bottle of "Badgers Creek" wine from Lidl (obviously it is referred to as "Badgers Crack"!) and packs of Steinhauser lager...great stuff!

themoon66 · 03/09/2006 00:57

My DH calls it 'Beavers leak' ... disgusting bugger!

Tinkerbel5 · 03/09/2006 11:05

I buy a few bits in there now and again, and I like to have a look at the new bits they have in on a Thursday. At the moment they have half price fruit & veg, I always stock up on orange juice, pasta sauce and noodles when in there.

TinyGang · 03/09/2006 11:20

Love Lidls.

I was really snooty about it when dh kept going on about it, but have been totally won over.

He loves smirking that he was right all along.
