internal wall damp- is this deffo a cracked pipe?

not necessarily - we had internal damp on a wall in our bedroom and it turned out the ground etc outside had come up over the dampcourse so prevented it from working. We're in flats so it was the lease provider who came out dug it out and put shingle in to aid drainage etc. There's more causes to internal damp than cracked piped - have they said why they think its that?

No knowledge or experience of your specific issue. But, wouldn't it be true that the problem will need to be fixed by the seller sooner or later in order for surveyors to give the house a good report? For your sake, hope they do it so you can proceed with a house you want....
