Waitrose is the food outlet of John Lewis - v posh, locally produced food and v pricey (but v niceif you can afford it). Ocado is the home delivery service they recently set up.

Somerfield used to be Fine Fare I think?

Georgina, there is one in Hereford so you are already semi-lucky unlike us Northern types .

There are actually 19 changing hands at this point so there's still hope...also Morrisons have to unload over 50 altogether (in the interests of competition).

Cat = contact another talker fio but you can have a cat too if you like. (They had a "pets" assembly at DS2's school last week, one mum brought in a dog and another one brought in a kitten in a basket (like chicken in a basket...?) and the dog, who lives with cats, was desperate to get it out and play with it, the place was in uproar apparently. Sorry I missed it!)

I could reach the Otley one for an exciting day out...actually we could do Southport, that really is a day out. (In Southport though they're selling the Morrisons and keeping the Safeway, don't know why.)

And in any case they're only planning to have changed over by Christmas so it's ages yet

one of my rellies lives in southport, we used to go there for day trips. Dont think dh would agree to a day out to waitrose in southport though, somehow!
