How do I register a domain name? .com

I want a .com for a business I am setting up. I do not know alot about it and don't know which company to register it with. I do not want to spend alot of money on the name and I will be designing the website my self. Does anyone have any advice/ tips they can give me regarding getting a .com domain name

dh says use ukservers.net and register under virtual names - he's got a few sites with them and had no probs in the two years he's been building sites.
