well..................the country has really gone down the sht hole, roads are crp, living is expensive for the majority of Zimbabweans, the water from the taps isn't safe to drink, the police are corupt.................................

BUT the people and the place are still as wonderful as ever - had an amazing time - very tiring (we drove - well DH drove LOL - over 1,500 miles) and visited LOADS of his family, as well as the Falls tooks hundreds (literally - think it's about 315 to be precise) and can't wait to go back again.

oh yes - they loved it - I've been to visit our 'rural home' (the village!) and visited another of his aunts in at their homestead - DS2 particularly was fascinated how his cousins were having a bath in the middle of the yard in a metal tub LOL. It was also the place I lost my pedometer down the "hole in the ground" (the toilet) !

I'd forgotten just how big DH's family is! His oldest aunt (on his mum's side) has 7 daughters and 16 grandchildren (14 of whom were there the day we visited) - and just to make things even more fun his younger brother (who's getting married in December) is marrying a girl who is one of 9 children !
