I have my car on ebay - someone has placed a bid so now they have bid if they are the highest bidder do they have to have the car ? Is there anyway they can retract their bid ?

They can retract their bid yes but it counts against them so I'm not sure how often it happens. Fingers crossed it will all go through smoothly for you. How long is it up for?

Got an hour left - fingers crossed for me. We need the money for the deposit on our new car

If they are the winningbidder they are legalybound to pay for the car.
they are told this prior to them confirming their bid.

Is it large amounts of money (more than £500?) if so i would imagine they would have wanted to come and view the car prior to buying it so beware. if they do not contact you within 24 hours of the autcion finsihing email them asking when theywould like to collect the car and that they are reminded theyhave entered into a legally binding contrat to buy the car.

fngers crossed for you

Legally obliged. There is always a get out around the description against which you're bidding I think . . .

If y ou have a show room condition decription and picture and it is rustier than Blackpool Pier, they will be entitled to walk away.
