Forget middle class - when are you middle AGED?

My dh has just referred to us as 'middle aged' (well in fact I was reading the 'relationships' bit and he said he was amazed at how much a bunch of middle aged women talked about sex!
I say I am 'only' 35 and not middle aged at all. He says having a mortgage, 3 children and a professsional career makes you middle aged, so at 35 and 36 we are a middle aged couple.
Help! Sort this one out! I am not middle aged!

middle aged - no,outraged!
Ill be middle aged when I look at the Canda range in C&A, and think that looks stylish.

Or when I can wear white slacks, because my children are all grown up.

At 36 I know I am not middleaged ... definitely not ...
But somehow I feel I am on that slippery slope when I see some young lads trying to run across the road but are failing miserably because their ridiculous trousers hanging down below their bums are hampering their progress. I find myself shaking my head thinking, "Honestly, what DO they think they look like?"

I agree with Ghosty. When you start tutting at younger fashions is probably the beginning of the end....

Having said that I don't really care. I'm 41 now and my 40th birthday was much happier than my 18th.
