My dh has just referred to us as 'middle aged' (well in fact I was reading the 'relationships' bit and he said he was amazed at how much a bunch of middle aged women talked about sex!
I say I am 'only' 35 and not middle aged at all. He says having a mortgage, 3 children and a professsional career makes you middle aged, so at 35 and 36 we are a middle aged couple.
Help! Sort this one out! I am not middle aged!

my dh said he knew he must be middle aged when he saw 2 young teenagers wearing next-to-nothing - and his first thought was ''do their dads know they're out dressed like that!'' rather than ''phoooarr''

Going by Moondog's definition - and the attacks of head-shaking and disapproval I get when I see how my students dress and behave - I'm middle-aged too. I'm 29.

Well that explains it then - h is definitely middle aged and I am not!

Arggh! I guess 45 is considered the crossing-over point. That gives me 2 years. Although I'd rather not think about it. I feel worse about the grey hairs that I've noticed since last year. 3 on one temple, one on the other, 2 on top of head. I pulled them out at first but realise this is not going to work long-term.

Well, yesterday I bought Good Housekeeping AND Woman & Home and enjoyed them so that's it for me, I am officially Middle Aged.

Interesting thoughts! Have resigned myself to definitely being middleaged, then, given the useful definitions suggested here

The 'young looking policemen' used to be the comment that indicate advancing years - but when I caught myself thinking that the A&E Consultant examining ds1 looked very youthful, well, I gulped. Also the classic comment that 'older people' would make - 'hasn't she grown......' arghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Did some maths the other day which revealed that in mid October, I will have been married for half my life. Time flies.
