Northern because of the different rates....
how much would you charge for before school? this would be paying for 5 mornings but only using 4 ( dad has one day off a week - but not always the same one)
he currently comes before & after but is going to walk alone to Grandma's after school.
he's been coming for 3 years and nearly 2 terms and has always paid the same - a mere £25 a week

i would appreciate your advice

my friend pays her childminder 2.50 - 3.50 an hour. 2.50 if she has the one child and 3.50 if she has both children. We are midlands. I think the nurseries generally tend to charge between 3.75 and 5.00 per hour, so usually childminders are competitive with this rate

In Yorkshire Mummysurfer, my childminder charges £3 an hour regardless of how many hours or where they are in the day
In your case, if I am reading it right, she would only charge for four mornings, if thats all you are using. I am going back to work Mon to Thurs but DH works shifts so will have one am and one pm off during that time, changing every week. We won't be paying her four full days, just the time he is there
Hope this helps

our childminder charges £3.00 per hour at any time

The child minders by me, charge between £2 - £3 perhour.

If you contact your social services, they will provide you with a list of registered childminders and the list normally have their costs on them.

Hope it helps. It helped me decided on a lot of things, as they say whether they have policies on no smoking, play area's etc

You need to contact your local CIS (Childrens Information Service,) they are resposible for childminders, not Social services any more. Click here and put in your postcode, you can find all childminders in your area and look up their rates for some idea of cost and what they provide.
