So far I have been quoted £2000 and £20,000

WHY THE HUGE DIFFERENCE?

what kind of website is it?

just ignore the 20k quote: that would be a company that charges £silly per hour because they can. we didn't charge that much even for the most stupidly complex ecommerce site imaginable.

2k might be about right or might be a lot depending on what you've asked for. are we talking credit cards or just design and building the website? have you asked to be able to update content yourself?

SenoraPostrophe · 29/08/2006 15:49

also did the quote include marketing?

beetroot · 29/08/2006 15:53

he said 100 per page
sort the database 300
content management 300

could be 1500 - 2000

no marketing

do you want another quote btw? contractions still more than 10 mins apart on average so I probably have time. it'd take my mind off it. lucy at future-shock.net

database and content management are probably about right (unless you wanted a full on contact management system with the database), per page costs are high - once you have the main template it takes 15-30 mins per page. but of course the template might take a while depending on how fussy you are!

My mate - here might be able to help. She's self-taught and fabulous. Tell her Jeff's old PA from GMBD sent you - bit of a riddle but she'll get it!

this company is very good and reasonable priced.
www.nt-design.co.uk I use them for my travel websites and cheapest starts at £350, they are very professional though. If you want to look at my site to see sort of standard its www.holidaysspecialist.co.uk

Beety the 20K is an agency I expect

2K sounds reasonable to me
