As soon as the school holidays start ds and I are going to make and decorate some papier mache bowls for our Easter Egg hunt. We have our best friends coming from Scotland for Easter and ds is keen to lay on entertainment and a little present for each of their ds'. Slight problem: the visiting dh is ds' godfather and he wants HIM to have a sodding bowl too so we'd better crank up the production line quickly.
It's the usual balloon/vaseline/old newspaper/flour & water paste/pop balloon when finished jobby. Looking forward to it, honestly!
Have also contemplated making chocolate crispy cake "nests" for Cadbury mini-eggs...

Get some easter egg moulds and make your own chocolate eggs, decorated with sugar flowers. Pipe people's names on their eggs.

There are some nice things at Baker Ross- cheap wooden egg-cups to paint, plastic egg cups that you put a face on and plant cress in for hair, plastic see-though eggs to decorate... As usual, I have spent a small fortune, but the children get so much out of it I don't mind. I think Lakeland usually have quite good things too. Otherwise you can cheaply make little baskets out of cardboard, fill them with shredded paper and put chocolate eggs in, stuff like that. Older children might like to make pom-poms with yellow wool and stick two together to make a chick (one smaller one, obviously )

I should think you'll be fine Sonnet- I ordered stuff a few weeks ago because I was getting things for dd's party bags too, but it came in less than a week. Go go go
