When I was pregnant with my first my mum dragged my poor dad around all the baby stores. She found him on day looking at travel cots - he thought they were "safety cots" where you put the baby to sleep underneath - bless him.

try and rest lanis. i had a heavy bleed with elliott, which i thought was a period, as i didn't know i was pg i also put him in a bed at 18mths as he was a climber. stairgate on the door essential. would always find him in a ball on the floor and just pop him back in bed. My friends ds actually used to pull the bars out of his cot and nip out that was!

i have a travel cot too, but she escapes that one even faster than her big one, the problem isnt so much sleeping at night, as im pretty lucky that once shes asleep she generally sleeps through, its just her daytime nap, and i use the big cot as somewhere to put her while i iron or cook, just to keep her out of the way as our flat is open plan,oh well, not any more!
allie, its reassuring to hear that so many people do bleed in early pregnancy and go on to have healthy babies, i have a letter from my gp now, so ill take that to the EPU tomorrow and see if i can get a scan.

Just turn the cot upside down and then weight it down with telephone directories.

Alternatively, it is time for the bed and guard option. Though my parents also used to block my bedroom door with a stair gate to stop early morning visits once I learned that throwing myself over the top didn't hurt; then two gates when I worked out how to climb over the first one! How desparate for sleep were they?!

When the (timer) light comes on in the morning, then you are allowed to visit mummy and daddy. Sticker charts to reinforce the message, and it is beginning to work . . .

lol at turning the cot upside down! My grandparents talk fondly of when they first got married during the war and only had a table. They used it as a table in the day then turned it over at night, shoved a mattress in it and used it as a bed at nighttime. Ingenious, and along the same lines...

Also never thought of two stairgates one on top of the other!!

makes me glad I have a lazy baby now!!! He just stands in his cot and wails till someone gets him!!! Lanismum... hope your scan goes ok tomorrow!
