Podmog - Is DH angry with you? Don't cry, put all the useless things, like pickles that you never use on the top shelf.
If the man said you can change it then I would, a fridge is a friend for life......

Change it, woman! DH is probably angry with himself for not thinking straight! How much freezer space do you need? I had a Hotpoint fridge/ freezer that had a full-size fridge on the bottom, and a half-size freezer on top. I'm only 5 foot, as well, and it was just the right size for me!
