Hi all, I am trying to organize a quiz for secondary school students to celebrate the opening of our new library and would be grateful for any library type quiz ideas.

Pictures of original covers of famous books minus the author and title info

Opening lines - guess the title

Guess the author from the title

Give names of train stations or similar from fiction and get then to name the title

Anagrams of authors names

Name the film or musical that was based on a named book

What book was the film based on? Eg 10 things I hate about you was based on the taming of the shrew. Or naming as many films as you can which were books first.

Book title from main protagonist/antagonist name.

I once did a literaray quiz for adults where I gave a list of characters and they had to name the book or series of books eg "Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty, Lydia" or " Jack, Ralph, Piggy". You could also use characters from children's books (Horrid Henry, How to Train Your Dragon etc) for some of the Year 7s or 8s.
