..on neutrality, after seeing what has happened in Spain - possibly as a result of them supproting the Us and UK in Iraq.

Or are the SWiss simply letting everyone else carry the can?

Is independence the way to go

Are they secretly cheese-eating surrender monkies?

Well they have a huge and highly trained army so if anyone ever had a go they would probably regret it. All my swiss friends have machine guns where I keep my ironing board (in cupboard under stairs)

btw I know they eat cheese and not in secret

they didnt cover themselves in glory in WW2, as they returned fleeing Jews to the Germans - mind you we w werent MUCH better.

It's a bit late for us though, with Tony firmly up George's arse.

And what about the Swiss Nazi Gold fiasco? (not radio station)

Coddy · 12/03/2004 12:47

there you are... wonder how much of that was claimed when they revealed it.?

lol CD

By law every house is supposed to have a nuclear bunker and food store, not sure what that says about Foreign Policy .... not sure about real independence though. More than 20% of population are non Swiss nationals and the Euro is accepted in some places.

Hmmm, might be worth it.

I once met a nazi war criminal in the Philippines, well I'm sure he was, right age, old loony running a bar in the back end of beyond. Had arrived there in 1945....

Coddy · 12/03/2004 12:51

What about Morocco and Turkey - they have not been involved in attacking Iraq but were targetted by Al Queda - they are attacking countries to try and inflame relations between Muslims and other religeons not because they were involved in the war. On this basis Switzerland will be alright - don't think many Muslims there???

Has there been an announcement that it was definately Al Queda and not ETE then???

Coddy · 12/03/2004 12:58

We have a bomb shelter in our house. In case of nuclear attack I think we're about last on the list to use it (it's part of the town's resources!).

Heeheehee... cheese-eating surrender monkeys! Gotta love the guys out in uniform training, though.

They had in place a program to wipe out Swiss gypsies (the Jenisch) until the early 70s. Eugenics, y'know. It's not the most tolerant of countries.
