it has been organised too soon and I don't just mean without enough notice (although that is also the case)

there will be time enough to demonstrate if gina ford ACTUALLY sues mumsnet for libel, which she hasn't done (and I doubt she will). if she does, you'll get lots of people turning out, from mumsnet and beyond.

before then, 6 people standing outside vermilion will just look stupid.

I think it is a really nice idea jessicaetcetc but I think now is not the right time.

all the publicity on this will have scared off nobody - she would be a complete lunatic (which of course she isn't, not at all) to sue for libel now having seen the furore that it has caused. even she can work out that people calling it a potential test case for internet defamation law sounds bloody expensive, and frankly she is unlikely to win.

if she is nutty enough to press on, then organise a demo and masses of people from all over the place will attend. meanwhile, mumsnet should continue to dig their heels in, and nobody will quietly fade away.

unless of course, as I suggested, she is a nutter.

I guess it's just too short notice. YOu are mainly looking at London and surrounding area MNEtters - I'm at a Lakes meet up but even so, it's a lot of money for people to just jump on a train tomorrow morning, with children and to be there by 10am! It's pushing it!

If there was more notice I'd do what I could to make it.

I'd come if I was in London though I think. there can always be another demo later in the (highly unlikely I agree) event of a court battle.

I can't make it with short notice but also agree with QPH. I think to do it tomorrow after all the publicity of the last two days runs the risk of making it look like it is a bit of a vendetta. Think we could do with backing off this until it becomes really necessary (which hopefully it won't) But I think JARM and all the others who have spent the afternoon working really hard at this are brilliant and well done.
