Barbapapa

This has really taken me back - I'd completely forgotten about them. What were they? Books? TV? I know them so well but I don't know why.

They still exist in France. There was barbapapa all over a shop in a mall under the Louvre at Easter.

Oh, barbapapa also means "candy floss" in french.

I had the books
I LOVED then, they had really good picturs of complicated houses with turrets and loads of rooms - I could spend hours poring over it and pretending to live there....

I wish I could remember which books I had - I definitely had one about that black spikey one.

oh yes, thanks for that link, these are the books I had as a child. I wonder if my parents still have them. I can't find any books on amazon or ebay (only dvd's).
