How do you set up a website?

I make handmade jewellery and tiaras. I want to set up my own website. Nothing too fancy just photos of what I do and descriptions of the items. The problem is I have no idea how to go about it. Although I'm quite computer literate I don't have any knowledge of HTML. Does that matter? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Pretty please!

No one knows how google rate websites, there are millions of pages devoted to search engine (read google here) optimisation and hundreds of companies who will happily take pots of money from you to get your site up there in the number one slot. But you need to keep working on it all the time. Easier and cheaper are links from and to other similar websites, local business listings, local council websites etc etc.

If you need any help Sally, I can point you in the right direction for hosting, writing, uploading etc. If you have Frontpage you won't go far wrong, but if your site is going to be graphics heavy you do need a good picture editor to optimise the images for your website. There is nothing worse than a slow site, people just go elsewhere.

Is Frontpage worth getting? Can complete novices use it? Thanks for your offer by the way
