would she not be able to get help from social services and people like homestart for care of the baby? So she can still keep baby but they put a care package in place where people come in to help her.

I have no suggestions - but will flag it up in a couple of other subject areas and draw people's attention to this.

trace2, you must contact your local social services or children and family services. Their tel number is in the tel book. They can take a'referral' from you and can visit and see if they can do anything to help. They really don't take kids into care unles there is no other way and the child is in an urgently dangerous situation. There will be LOTS of help they can offer. They will also be able to help with support groups. Also, what about her health visitor I am sure she would be pleased to help/advise. Don't feel you mustn't interfere most often people are desperate for someone else to help but too upset to ask.
