Cr*ppy Cleaning company!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

2 weeks ago, my stupid cr*ppy cleaner told me she'd be answering the phone in the office instead of cleaning so I phoned the company to see what they were going to do about it. Left a message and never heard back from them. Cleaner came last week - no note left, nothing. This week, NO cleaner.

Phoned the company again and spoke to the woman boss who said in a rather pathetic voice 2Oh, I kept meaning to drop a not in, I really should have done it..." too Bl00dy right she should have!

TBH we weren't 100% happy with the cleaner and I was fed up with tidying up after her son whenever he came round in the holidays but that's not the point. I'm SOOOOO angry! I have to rush around on a Friday morning tidying up (not cleaning!) and making sure DS2 and I are out of the house all morning and I'm seriously p*ed off. So, once more I say:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Any good recommendations for a cleaner in S.London/Surrey?? I can give you one to avoid!

What is it with these companies? We're paying them to do a job for heaven's sake, it's not like they're doing us a favour.

What makes it worse is that my in laws are coming to stay tomorrow...

my cleaner was looking for some extra work recently. she may still be. she currently has jobs in the clapham/brixton/streatham area - not sure if she would travel to where you are, but there's no harm in asking. she's very good. if you are interested contact me via "contact another talker" and i'll let you have more details.

Cant offer any help as I live in Herts/North London but I had similar problems with local company who came in to do a 'post-builder spring clean'.
They were absolutely PANTS!
It makes me mad still even thinking about it so I'd better not say any more.

bossykate · 05/03/2004 14:22

oh i remember you asking about this mckenzie. it didn't go well, then?

Exactly why my ILs are coming over to stay, Galaxy! As I told Pupuce, I'll be the tall thin gorgeous one withthe Orlando Bloom lookalike partner

I'm probably too far out for your cleaner, BK. I'm right on the Surrey border - she'd spend a fortune in petrol

We had another company do a "spring clean" once. They threw out loads of stuff including a filofax, DS1s toys and cufflinks. I had to go through every single bag of rubbish.

I dunno if this is the one that let you down, but while I was in Croydon we used Molly Maids for a while and was very happy with them. Weren't particularly cheap, but they did send two so they were quick (and the two ladies I had were lovely - usually had a natter, a cup of tea and a coo over ds for a little bit too )
