I have unplugged the phone so when MIL calls I won't hear it. Its too hot I'm too tired and really cannot be arsed with her today plus she waits until I'm putting tea on the plates and then leaves which makes me feel really uncomfortable but if you ask her to stay she will say no. So there I'm a bitch

I ignore the phone all the time!!

I generally let the phone click onto answer phone then see who it is, so if it is MIL I can pretend not to be here to avoid a visit.

I think this is why Caller ID was invented! I do it all the time

Bitches Unite! I hardly answer the phone to my own mother lol

What's even worse though is that I keep doing 1471 to check if she has called and I giggle like an idiot!

I avoid the phone loads, just check the id and then ignore it. Unfortunatly the kids keep answering it

I have NEVER knowingly answered the phone to MIL. Either dh deals with her, or I ignore it. And I've been with dh 11 years, married for 6

My MIL is innocuous enough - but she can whitter on for ages. She seems immune to half hearted protestations such as "I think I have to go now, ds is screaming - he may have severed a limb and I ought to go and check it out"

So consequently I NEVER answer the phone to her
