Ideas Needed for an Easter Egg Hunt

My ds and his rugby team are going on tour over the Easter Weekend - we want to arrange an Easter Egg Hunt for Easter Sunday - we are, hopefully, being donated a mug sized Easter Egg for each of them plus siblings so it is not just a case of hiding the eggs and letting them look for them as there will be one each. I am thinking of hiding clues around, possibly have the children in teams - maybe the clues could be colour coded for each team. My problem is that I need to get all the clues etc sorted out before we go as we will not have the time or the resources to do it once we are there - the boys are staying in an outdoor centre which we have never been to before so I have no idea of layout etc. and, obviously, this may be held indoors or outdoors dependent on the weather.

Any ideas? Has anyone done this before so I could pinch their ideas.

I did similar thing and found what worked was writing clues for things they could find anywhere ie a rock/feather/flower etc and they had to find those and bring them to me to get the egg.

That sounds a good idea - however, I have no idea what will be there. I was thinking of having some letter clues around to make up a word - using your idea they could spell out 'feather' then they have to bring a feather to me (at least that way I can make sure there is at least one feather in the place) . What other 7 letter item words can you think of - any idea of some F E A T H E R word clues?
