and not looking like it's going to stop any time soon and I have to walk to work in 1/2hr. Can you all do a 'reverse' rain dance for me so that it stops...........I don't want to get wet (it's going sideways so even an umbrella won't keep me totally dry) and I'm terrified of being outside in thunder storms [frown]

Not again! We had it Tuesday and Wednesady night in Southampton.
Last night DH left the spare room window open under the leaky gutter and it was like someone had stuck a hosepipe through it. Went through the floorboards and down the walls in the kitchen
Good luck your maj.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 27/07/2006 21:06

trinity - it's still really hot here though - so very sticky - currently reading 29C in our bedroom! And DH has the fan on downstairs and is sitting in just his shorts (phwarr wish I didn't have to go to work )

so hot and wet, hmmmm, well maybe you can keep it then. I want some proper cold rain

ComeOVeneer · 27/07/2006 21:08

Put a change of clothes in a plastic bag, and enjoy getting wet or cooler whilst you are heading to work.

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 27/07/2006 21:09

and even when I get to work it's always roasting in there (Care Home for hte Eldery) so I'll be feeling really yucky by the time I get home in the morning - urghhh.

Can totally sympathise QofQ. We went to visit dh's grandmother last weekend and despite the heat outside , internally the home was ten times worse. (We went armed with a hand held fan , evian spray etc for her but it was horrendeous inside)

longwaytogo · 27/07/2006 22:22

mmmm can totally sympathise have just finished 13 hour shift in hosptial it is absolutly roasting - uniform just sticks to you and i'm sure the patients dread us getting too close as we must stink. uch
