Yes scented tampons, not scented adverts. Does anyone else find the idea revolting? I actually shrieked in horror at the advert

it's definitely NOT a windup

many mumsnetters own them

and there are loads of threads on them on here

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 27/07/2006 13:10

Heheh cheese&onion flaour!
Scented sanitary towels don't go up your wotsit though and every medical advice I've ever read/heard has been anti anything scented for use down there.
Doesn't really do much for women does it? A generation of young men growing up brainwashed to believe the natural fanny smell is no good.
(Of course I'm a Mooncupper myself so quite familiar and confident about my bits )

Sorry for being an MN virgin but I only joined on Saturday and the only one thats been nice to me is moreteaanyone. Im going back to netmums.

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 27/07/2006 13:13

Huh? I didn't notice anyone not being nice to you on this thread Liesel. Don't go yet, stay and laugh at the lentilweaving types with me (who probably drive big 4x4s for the schoolrun in real life )

Iklboo · 27/07/2006 13:15

Oh feck - are we having another dumbfluff thread here?

MrsJohnCusack · 27/07/2006 13:16

I haven't got the energy....it's too hot for this

expatinscotland · 27/07/2006 13:18

it's deffo too hot to have a group cuddle.

LieselVonTrapp · 27/07/2006 13:19

Bucket of dinosaurs
YIPPPEEEE a fellow human - love you mwa mwa

donnie · 27/07/2006 13:21

I have always read the mooncup threads with interest and fear. I would quite like to try it but am just too scared of leakage etc. What if it sudenly pings out?

expatinscotland · 27/07/2006 13:23

believe me, donnie, it will NOT ping out! it stays put by suction. in fact, i had to opposite trouble. until some wise MNers told me to squeeze the base to release the suction.

i had a few minor leaks the first month, as i got used to it.

but NONE now. love it! won't look back now.

alexsmum · 27/07/2006 13:24

liesel is another dumbfluff.it's rhyming slang

Iklboo · 27/07/2006 13:24

Liesel - if you think people aren't being nice to you, you should see what happened to marmaladesun on the smoking while pregnant thread!

Anyways...welcome to MN. I hope you enjoy it as much as the rest of us do, and find it useful & interesting.

Now - tell us something about yourself. I'm iklboo, 37, married to a driving instructor. We have 1 DS (9 months), live near Manchester. I'm a PA & a mumsnet addict

Bucketsofdinosaurs · 27/07/2006 13:32

Warning Liesle, I am a clothnappy using Mooncupwearer though . Don't think I've introduced myself for a while either: I'm a 30yr old SAHM to a 3yr old and an 18m old from Hampshire.

Alexsmum - trying to work out what rhymes with dumbfluff. Have I missed a big barney?

OP posts:
Iklboo · 27/07/2006 13:33

Bucket - it was HILARIOUS. Went on and on and on, Happydaddy got very rude & naughty. It was a total wind up but, gee, it was fun while it lasted

alexsmum · 27/07/2006 13:34

well nothing rhymes with dumbfluff but von trapp rhymes with crap.

controlfreaky · 27/07/2006 13:35

saw it last night. yuk yuk and yuk.... why would anyone buy them? am i only one who would be worried about immediate toxic shock?? (apologies if 500 people have said same... just read op only)

Piffle · 27/07/2006 13:36

ok but who is going to sniff your minge and more especially who is ging to sniff your minge when you've got the decorators in?

Iklboo · 27/07/2006 13:37

[piffle lowers tone]

Piffle · 27/07/2006 13:39

or why would you want to sniff your own minge?
I mean ok if there was need... I meanI do not use them but I can see how scented pantyliners might be sellable....
But a tampon?
And surely they all smell the same when they come out again later...
No wonder we all love mooncups then...

And sorry for bringing it down to whiffy minge level

brimfull · 27/07/2006 13:40

talking of scented tampons....my dd piped up that she wanted some of these after seeing the adds. That is who they're aiming them at and I think it's appalling.
At 14, she just uses pads . I had heard some bad press about tampons(unscented aswell) and would like to know more to persuade her from starting to use them.Any lentil weavers about who can give me some facts.I had thought about introducing her to the mooncup as I wouldn't be without mine ,but I think that may be a bit much for a teenager. But how fab if I could get her hooked onto it,she would tell her friends etc. etc.

Piffle · 27/07/2006 13:41

avoiding applicators is a good start but teens are also icky about that too.

brimfull · 27/07/2006 13:42

anyone know of any teens who use mooncup?

LieselVonTrapp · 27/07/2006 13:44

Alexsmum - I dont like your tone, dont know what dumdfluff means either but assume you are either playground security or you work in Mothercare.
Ikleboo - I have too agree with you though, people who smoke durung pregnancy should be taken outside and shot - after birth obviously.
Piflle - PMSL -
Buckets of dinosaurs - I still love you you tree hugging lentil waving earth mother.

alexsmum · 27/07/2006 13:49

ooohhh-get you!

southeastastra · 27/07/2006 13:50
