I was wondering if anyone has got a solution to my latest problem with my 2 year old daughter. She has discovered how to press the red button on her car seat and release the straps and is bouncing around in the back of the car daily. I have had a look at other car seats and they are all pretty much the same so don't know what to do. I have tried scaring her into not touching it but all has failed thus far. Is she likely to grow bored of this new game?, I think not - it's far too much fun. Any ideas anyone?, Obviously this is a dangerous situation and I am very worried about it.

I had thought you used to be able to get a cover to slide over the buckle but tbh the best route is to "persuade" her not to touch it while the engine is running. imho 2 isn't too young to be aware of basic dangers - traffic, car parks, water etc - and when dd used to wriggle her arms out aroudn that age I'd stop the car and bawl her out. She soon stopped. Can you keep something else for her to play with in the car to distract her or a tape which you could switch off if she undoes it and give lots of attention for keeping it buckled like a big girl each time.
