Hi everyone.

I am currently looking for a property to rent
but have no idea how it works.

What would I have to show, proof etc? Would I need to get references and if so then who from and what kind of thing does it have to say..

Never rented a property before..

Also, any do's and don'ts would be great.

Many thanks

Hello, I'm a letting agent. We take people to see the property, then if they want it, take their name, email, phone number etc. and pass them over to a referencing company to do it. The company sends and email & then verifies, salary, residential history, credit history etc.

Thank.you

I got bad credit history but good wages

My partner is on lower wages but has a good credit history

How would this effect us?

Many thanks

Make sure you declare your credit history or it will be a no. Depends how long ago really. Realistically you can't expect landlords to welcome a bad credit history. Would your partner's wages cover the rent? Have you anyone who could be your guarantor?
