Help! My DS2 (21 months) got his hands on the computer when I was making lunch earlier. He has moved the start menu and all the shortcuts etc to the top of the screen and I can't get them to go back down the bottom where DH usually has them. When I found the computer he also had one of DH's files open (he works from home but is out today) and I am concerned that DS2 may have interferred with more than the one file, how do I find the most recently viewed files on the computer?

Many, many thanks to anyone who can help, I am supposed to have the office door locked so this can't happen but of course I got distracted! (insert scared smile)

Phew managed to put the start menu and the shortcuts etc back where they should be. Any ideas about how to see the most recently viewed files? I have done this before but just cannot find them today!

Is it possible your DS had managed to clear the list of recently viewd files? (right click tool bar, select propertes and there's a button on the "Advanced" tab to do this.)

You can get the list of recent documents from the Start menu.

If he's opened any documents he would have had to save them to keep any changes, so the chances are he hasn't done any harm.

Check your recycle bin, just in case he's deleted anything important.

Oh, and check with your dh what he does about backing up his important work files

Thanks Soupdragon and Easy. I cannot find the list of recently viewed files anywhere, I'm sure I've seen it before, I've tried both your suggestions. Thanks for the hint about the recycle bin, I had a look in there and it doesn't appear that he has put anything in it.

As for DH backing up work files, I'm hoping not to have to mention this incident to him and I hope he doesn't sneakily do some Mumsnet lurking to see what I have been up to during the day, in retrospect I should have changed my name for this one.

Thanks for your help!
