Managing on a tight budget (again!)

A friend who has 2 small children (20 months and nearly 4) and is a SAHM is increasingly finding it hard to manage on just the one income. Out of financial desperation she has started to take in ironing and does around 3 hours per night after the children have gone to bed. (Most of us struggle to do our own ironing - never mind anyone else's!). She is totally shattered!

I've seen threads before about managing on a tight budget but can't find them when I've searched. I believe there are a couple of websites etc which provide invaluable advice... please could someone tell me the web addresses for these so that I can pass the details on to her before she cracks up.

Thanks very much

hmc, apparently the reason you can't find them is because ATM search is only working on the last week - there is a thread - tech said it'll be back to normal at the weekend I think.

Money Matters to Me might help - can't think of any of the others though.

Thanks for this JanH,

Given the technical difficulties in pulling up old threads at the moment - does anybody else know any other good websites re managing on a tight budget?

UKP has a "Families on a Budget" forum; it's a good place to pick up tips and suggestions.
Glad someone else is commenting that the M'Net search facilities seem to have gone wonky.

You could try the Motley fool - they have a board on "living Below your Means" which is good for this type of thing.

Martin Lewis runs a website on how to make money out of your credit card, bank account, mortgage savings, etc.

That's brilliant - thanks everybody, I will pass these on
