Chalk - stained brickwork, wtf to do?!

The children have drawn all over our outside walls and patio with 'sidewalk chalk' with permission as I believed it would wash off.

Our landlord comes round next week to do the final check and return our deposit (hopefully) and we have just discovered that the chalk won't wash or scru off.

H tried steam cleaning while I was out which I think may have made it more permanent.

Any ideas anyone?

have you tried a bleach solution and a scrubbing brush?

Pressure washer?

Is it blue? I find that the blue tends to stain, but the rain always washes it off the patio eventually. The brick walls are a different matter, much harder to clean (while I still allow them to draw on the patio, I've now banned the walls). Try a scrubbing brush and soap (not detergent).

Cheers!

Will try all suggested!

Kids have also flooded the patio by breaking the copper pipe. Took us 'some time' to find stopcock.

Bugger, my back garden is covered as are the bricks round the bottom of the house . I even gave it as a tip for amusing the kids on another thread.

So DS's trail of toxic waste coming from the vents are permenant though.

We have only had a few light showers so I will have to see if they wash off.
