My dad is part of the team who organises road races in their town. And now DD (4y3m) is a bit older we thought we'd see how she'd like it. She loves running, as most children of this age do.
So tonight DD and her daddy did the one mile fun run round town. She did so well. They started near the back as DH didn't want her to get pushed about, but she quickly overtook a fair few people including children much older than herself. She was the second youngest child in the race It was pretty warm still though, so Dh had her drinking water throughout.
She finished in spot on 14 minutes, which we thought was fab for her first run ever! She kept on running all the way round.
She had her number and name shouted out as she came to the finish, by the bloke with the megaphone thingy and Dh said she got loads of claps and cheers all the way round. And she got her medal for finishing, which she is chuffed to bits with. She wants to do the next one grandad organises now!
She is taking her medal and number into nursery tomorrow for circle time
Was ever so proud of her and just wanted to share with you all.
About to go to the start line
Sprinting to the finish line
(Oh, and DH did well too )
