stopping place on M6??

we are headed off for the lakes early on saturday morning - from London. anyone got any good suggestions for a place to stop for an hour or two mid morning - i am hoping we will be on M6 well past Birmingham by then... want somewhere kids can run around and we can all temporarily de stres...

If you are past Birmingham you could come off the MY and head for telford. There is a great children's park/playground there. When we travel on the opposite direction we often stop off at Stratford-on-Avon but that may be too soon for you.

You could stop off at Stafford J13, we have a nice park with pool and playpark, or if you wanted to do something more, you could head towards Shugborough and visit the farm and house - v. nice
