When did your baby double their birth weight?

My baby got weighed today, and she is 13 pounds 7 She was 7lb 9 at birth so obviously she has not yet doubled her birth weight, and i just wondered when other people's babies did.

Oh and my daughter is 3.5mths

Oh and were they breast or forumla fed?

Ds3 was 14lb 8oz at the last weigh in (2 weeks aog on friday) and he was 8lb 4oz when born so he's not doubled his yet and he was 5 month yesterday!

Oh forgot to say he's bottle fed.

3 months: DS (born 6lb+8oz). Almost 7 months: DD (born 7lb). Both breastfed.
I thought the rule of thumb was to double by 6 months.
But hey... I know a little girl who went from 7lb+10oz at birth to 13 lb by 6 weeks old!

DD was 8lb 7 born and 18 lb at a year so it took her a while.

DS was 10 lb born and at 3 months was 18 lbs so he did really well LOL.

Both were bottle fed.

dd didn't double her birth weight until she was 7 months old - she was breastfed.

Ds was about 10 months. Dd hasn't yet (she is about 6lbs off) and is 6 months. Ds was mixed fed and dd is breast fed.

ds2 born 4k
reached 8k at 15 weeks, just under 4 months on BM alone, no solids.

First one was 4.25k and doubled at 17 weeks, BM and solids for 4 weeks.

Ds1 was 8lb 6 doubled by 16 weeks breast/bottle
Ds2 was 9lb 8 doubled by 20 weeks breast/bottle

Dd1 was 10lb doubled by the time she was 12 months but she has heart problem and had ng tube until she was 12 months. At 6 months she actually weighed less than her birth weight so did pretty well considering . She was breast fed and then given extra calorie formula.

DD was 6lb 15oz (3.22kg) at birth
According to her red book, she weighed 14lb 5lb (6.49kg) at 18 weeks, so maybe 17 weeks when she was actually double I guess.

She was bf for first 2 weeks, mix fed gradually till 6 weeks, and then formula fed. She was weaned from 15 weeks.

DD is now 22 months.

Dd 7lb 12oz doubled at about 19 weeks
Ds 8lb 5oz doubled at 17 weeks
Both breastfed.

According to my mum, they used to say as a guideline for weight gain, "double in 6 months, treble in a year" Don't know if that still holds true.

Ds was 8lb3oz at birth and had doubled that by about 17 weeks. He was b/f. My mum always said the same as yours Posey. Ds hadn't tripled by a year though - he's got all lanky like his dad.

ds was 6 lb11oz at birth and doubled that at 7 weeks...yes 7 weeks!!!! (breastfed)
dd was 7 lb 10 oz at birth and doubled it at about 9 or 10 months, but she has a heart problem (also breastfed)

My DD was born at 7lb, and doubled at about 8 and a half months (she was 14lb 2oz at 39 weeks) . She was fully breastfed.

About 3 months and fully breast-fed (wish I'd halved mine at the same time!!) She did have VERY chubby cheeks at the time

My DD doubled by 6 months, but DS has doubled at just under 3 months (12 weeks) from 8lb 9oz to 17lb 3oz. He's breast feed with the occassional formula top-up.

His Daddy doubled at under 2 months (my MIL has this all written down, so I believe her). He was 6lb at birth, but 60 cm long (24 inches!!!!) so he was long and extremely skinny. He kept up this remarkable growth rate and is now 6'10" and is still a beanpole! DS definitely has more of a rugby player physique at the moment!

Also- I've lost the weight much faster this time too and am now under my pre-pregnancy weight with a 3 month old baby. I'm not sure if this is a good thing!

my ds doubled his weight by four month old which ait bad seeing as we had a roky start where he refused bottle milk as in he would take 2oz every four hours i couldnt breast feed something wrong where i couldnt produce milk dont ask me what i havent got a clue why

DS was 8lb10 at birth and doubled his weight by 14 weeks (checked his red book last night)

He was formula (soya) fed

DD weighed 7 lbs 12 ozs at birth and it took her 19 weeks to double.

Only a month breastfed and the remainder was formula.
