Dd's school, as most around here, has only small amount of outside space so use local park for sports day. Its a well defined part of the park, fenced and gated and schools book it with the council. Anyway toilet block is being refurbished so they provided portaloos for the sports day season. Except they forgot ours was today and removed them.
So no sports day
The kids were really disappointed, loads of parents took time of work to help, little ds was really looking forward to going along and cheering.
Talk about inept

There was a sad sports day story in our local paper last week. Local athletics stadium double booked the special schools sports day with a local mainstream school. Children from all the special schools were involved and had to leave as their carers felt unsafe with the mainstram schools doing javelin in one area whilst they did their races.
