anyone know of a decent fabric warehouse in london where i can get curtains with outrageous 2.5m drop made, or whether block C at wembley is too far back to see barney?

  1. Try this they have a branch in Weybride which is not too far outside London, my Mum has got some really wonderful fabrics from the one in Winchester.
  1. Depends on how they are configuring it.
madgirl · 25/02/2004 15:18

thanks countess d, barney is stalls, in blocks A (front) B (middle) and so on. I just want to make sure that he will be able see sth decent, or maybe going upper tier is better as we won't have tallest person in the world in front of us.
i can't beLIEVE we can't get curtains off the peg from peter jones or john lewis. what a mare.

oh madgirl I don't know if Fab Warehouse do them off the peg. I know that we got huge blackout curtains for dd's room off the peg from here You could call them and see.

madgirl · 25/02/2004 15:24

no cd i meant, can't believe i have to have them made and need to go to a place like this to get them made. i fear it's going to be pricey. v useful links

Madgirl - I used to allocate tix for wembley in my sleep zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Seats on the floor usually run A-C (first blocks) then D-F (second blocks etc. Most of the shows I did were standing on the floor however.

Best seat blocks on the tiers, from memory were 34. Do they have the seating format on their website?

How many are you after and I will ask my old firm to get you some good ones, they are used to me mithering.

madgirl · 25/02/2004 16:37

Olive oil they do have the seating but it is really not very informative - ie difficult to figure out what's good and what's pants. I am after 3 tickets on any day in the afternoon on June 2nd, 3rd, 4th or any time on 5th and 6th June for Barney's colourful world (NIGHTMARE). Just don't want to get stung for rubbish seats (bad enough going anyway!!)
can't do links but - www.ticketmaster.co.uk/cgi/asp_events/perfname.asp?searchname=Barneys_Colourful_World&vaxname=UK2&venuenum=621&category=Attractions

  1. Have you tried Ikea? Their curtains were the longest I found. Not top quality though.
  2. Block C is not far enough away from Barney IMO
madgirl · 25/02/2004 21:29

soupdragon agree heartily re barney but ds loves him so much. re ikea, v good idea, may have to take sicky tomorrow and visit at same time as cd's fabric warehouse

Yes, I got some great long, long long curtains at ikea. Super cheap. They actually have quite a bit of choice. Not too much for heavy curtains, but lots for light stuff.

oliveoil · 26/02/2004 09:17

madgirl - I had a look on www.whatsonwembley.com and if you go to Barney they have a selection of ticket prices and then you can click on to see the seating plan - I can't do links either, v crap.

The blocks on the floor run A1-A3 then B1-B3 then there is a gap and then the C blocks start. Not sure if these would be good or not, look far back to me.

I will email my friend and see what she can sort out, will let you know later.

Warning - you may end up in front of the stage with a purple barney arse too close for comfort .

madgirl · 26/02/2004 10:36

right, am off to ikea and fabric warehouse, (feeling a bit poorly today ) olive oil i reckon you're right that block c will be too far back. bad enough having to endure the show without having to deal with sad ds who cannot see.

Madgirl - I have some good news for you, my ex boss has sorted me out with comps for 2pm 5th June, send me your address on contact a sender and I will forward them on when they get to me. She has asked for Block A, not sure if they will be these but at least if the purple one is crap, you haven't paid.

xx
